Wood Privacy Fence
Classic cedar or pine board-on-board privacy fencing. The Austin standard for residential backyards — solid, beautiful, and built to last.
Wood Privacy Fence Installation
Wood privacy fencing remains the most requested residential fence style in the Austin market. Our board-on-board construction creates complete sightline privacy while allowing air movement — critical in Texas summers.
Why Board-on-Board?
Standard privacy fencing leaves gaps as wood dries and shrinks. Board-on-board installs overlapping boards alternating front and back. When the wood dries, privacy is maintained. It also adds structural depth and a finished look from both sides.
Construction Specs
Every wood privacy fence we build follows our standard specification:
- Posts: 4×4 or 6×6 pressure-treated pine, set 2’–3’ deep in concrete
- Rails: 2×4 horizontal rails, pressure-treated, 3-rail for 6’ height
- Boards: 1×6 cedar or pine, spaced and nailed with hot-dipped galvanized fasteners
- Top cap: Optional 2×6 dog-ear or flat cap rail
Cedar vs. Pine
Western red cedar is naturally rot-resistant and dimensionally stable in Austin’s heat cycles. Pine is economical and performs well when sealed. We recommend cedar for unpainted fences and pine where you plan to paint.
